Brynderwen Surgery

Crickhowell Rd, St. Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0EF, UK – 029 2079 9921

By and large, ok. Everything you want from a GP. Unless you're Autistic. One of the receptionists can be dismissive and rude. And changing to this surgery when I moved here wasn't easy. Doctors themselves actually pretty good.

Brilliant doctors, would highly recommend them.

Rumney Primary Care Centre

Barmouth Rd, Rumney, Cardiff CF3 3LG, UK – 029 2079 7751

Well i'm happy with the service they provide, and I don't really have a problems with getting an appointment.

Personally I've never had an issue. Prescription renewal is perfectly fine and can be covered using MyHealthOnline. Emergency appointments are (in my experience) prompt, although I've never had the validity of my emergency questioned. I imagine that's the main reason the review score is so low. Routine appointments are unfortunately a problem. Expect to see a doctor in a month or two down the line with a routine booking... thankfully I've not needed one for a while. The center itself is spacious and light and the staff have been friendly enough, at least to me! There is also an onsite pharmacy, ran by Mr Bhogal, fantastic service every time. I'm not going to blame the site for poor NHS funding. As I say I've not had a bad experience yet.

Pontprennau Medical Centre

33 Kenmare Mews, Pontprennau, Cardiff CF23 8RJ, UK – 029 2073 9999

Nice surgey .all staff are vey polite and welcome you with smile which its very important .the only problem is the appointment system . Patient has to be physically there twice .one to make appointment and second time if appointment is late then go and come back . Its not very convince for everyone. I work 9to5 but i need leave house 8am so no chance to attend GP. I hope the manager look at this and make if flexible and accept appointment over the phone as well to save some time.

Entire family goes to this practice. Always jad a very positive experience.

Spire Cardiff Hospital

Glamorgan House, Croescadarn Rd, Cardiff, Pontprennau, Cardiff CF23 8XL, UK – 029 2073 5515

Absolutely professional service. My mother had a knee problem, to see the local gp there was a 1 month wait!. I phoned spire told them the situation, had an appointment the same day problem solved. Highly recommended.

Not the greatest in terms of administration I have to admit, been messed around a fair bit trying to get to the Specialists. You also seem to be passed through a triage process of default physio, MRI, ultrasound and generalist Consultations first, before you see a specialist - which I guess is standard practice anywhere but it racks up the fee's. If it wasn't for the fact that it is subsidised through my employment, I would have been a bit annoyed with the way I had been treated and the amount of money that had been spent.

The IGP - Private Doctors - Cardiff Gate

Oaktree House, Cardiff Gate Business Park, Pontprennau, Cardiff CF23 8RS, UK – 0345 625 2252

I have been going to this private surgery for nigh on 10 years now and I couldn't speak more highly on the way I have been treated by the staff, who are extremely polite and competent. My Doctor who I have always requested is Dr Sian Edwards. A total gem, who is not only thorough, decisive, warm and highly efficient, but to be frank, I have found her to be just as skillful as any Specialist (and I have seen a number of these over the last ten years). There is a resident physiotherapist who I have had cause to visit upon as well, Mr Gareth Tremain, who is also highly effective, and there are various other medical staff in residence who seem to be friendly and on the ball as well. Whatever your medical problem is, this practice is the place to go to if you want immediate referrals, vaccinations, testing and screens. As I have not had a need for a pre-frontal lobotomy as yet I am unsure whether that is a possibility. Regardless of any of this, I can only speak from experience of how I have been treated over the years at the IGP, and it has all been very pleasant and extremely helpful. An unhurried and genuine health service that regards you as an entity and not simply a bottom on a seat.

Fast, very friendly and expert GP care. Really reliable. Highly recommended
